Shalestone Vineyards - Review

Shalestone Vineyards is a small winery in Lodi on the East Side of Seneca Lake. The small and cute winery should not be underestimated if you are looking for well crafted dry red wine in the Finger Lakes.

Shalestone does not try to be all things to all people and as such they do not fail in the one thing they do very well.  Red, dry red,  is all they do.  Quiet, easy going discussions with the winemaker and his wife are to be found if you are quiet and listen.  If you are looking to have loud unbridled fun, there are other wineries that can better handle your temperment.  You won't find them inviting in a bus or limo full of people.  You won't find medals adorning their walls, they don't enter the contests.

Shalestone is typically only open on weekends during the late spring and on into late summer.  Then they close to focus on the task at hand.  The task of making outstanding dry red wine.  They don't so much produce wine as they craft it.  From vine to bottle, they craft the wine themselves.

If this suits your taste and style, visit Shalestone Vineyards for more info.
